Anodised Aluminium sheerline deck cleats – LM5 – Alumunium Magnesium Casting Alloy (Al-Mg5).
Using specialist techniques and experience developed over 40 plus years, our skilled craftsmen create beautiful hand-polished marine fittings. The light, high-grade aluminium used in the casting process has an extremely high tensile strength, and the silver anodizing at 15 microns is exceptionally durable and protective against the tough marine environment. YS fittings not only look and feel good, but they are also practical, hardwearing, and thoughtfully designed for the discerning yachtsman or the yacht building industry.
Material Specifications
- Mechanical Properties: Tensile Stress (N/mm2) 170-280
- Machinability: LM5 machines very well and takes an excellent polish
- Corrosion Resistance: This alloy is highly resistant to corrosion and is superior to all other aluminium alloys for marine use
- Application: LM5 is used where very high resistance to corrosion from seawater or marine atmospheres is required
- Anodising: All YS fittings (LM5) are anodised to 10 micros for added protection
